A classic design from the 1960s by Coro, this 21-strand chain necklace works just as well today. I can see it over a crew neck dress or under a white blouse, just a classic design of gold-tone link and bar links chains. Excellent vintage condition, marked in two places near the hook clasp. Easy to wear and a great look.
Size: 16 inches end to end; chains from 14 inches to 16 inches
The name Coro is actually a combination of the last names of the two founders, Cohn and Rosenberger. Founded in the 1900s, the Coro jewelry company became a powerhouse in reasonably priced costume jewelry and brought colored stones and glitter to middle-class women all over America. Produced in their factory in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1946 Coro employed 2100 people with gross sales of $16M! Even though the Coro brand changed hands in the 1970s and stopped in the 1990s, its impact changed the landscape of American costume jewelry. Coro had several lines including Coro, CoroCraft, and Vendome.
