Christmas on Hellam

Christmas on Hellam is a free community holiday lightshow located in Mechanicsburg PA for families to enjoy from Thanksgiving night through Epiphany. Please search for and like it on the book of faces. Growing up in a small town farm community- we didn't decorate, but we would drive around to other towns to look at the lights. This always put a smile on my face, not just because of the festive season, but also for the family time we spent together. Back then I said to myself that one day- those decorated houses would be me. In 2016 I finally realized that dream and Christmas on Hellam began. It started with a few reindeer and lights on the house and grew each year. Then I discovered you could make the lights blink to music. A trip to Vegas later for the Chrismas Expo....the lights started blinking to music with an outdoor speaker. Don't worry- I talked to the neighbors before hand! Then i found out you can transmit over the radio..... so an FM transmitter later- you can listen from the warmth of your car. Then who knew they make snow machines to blow snow around when your white Christmas isn't white? Instead of the neighbors being upset- random donations appeared in my mailbox and new props appeared on the porch to add in the next year. We are now a gathering spot for the neighborhood and community and raise money for local female veterans in need of assistance.
