Pair of Mudman art pottery glazed Shou Lao Figurines. These are from the Wanjiang area of Guangdong Province, China. Shou Lao is a Daoist God of Longevity, often depicted with a prominent forehead, long beard, and carrying a staff and a peach, all symbolizing long life and good health. Mudmen figurines, including Shou Lao, were traditionally used as house blessings in Chinese culture to convey wishes for longevity, prosperity, enlightenment, and good health.
Excellent vintage condition, with a small fleabite on the object the brown mudman is holding (see photo). Please review all photos as they are part of the description.
