Crafted from natural bourd and bamboo, possibly a Halusi, also known as a cucurbit flute, a free-reed wind instrument from China. It is popular among ethnic groups in China's Yunnan Province, particularly the Dai peop. It has 2 fingering holes and has a clear sound, but is more for decorative purposes. It has a painted motif and on the upper portion has writing. The gourd has a sealer finish, giving protection to the unit. The piepes have a hand-wrapped fiber holding them in place. It measures 15” from end to end.
