Okay - the sweater measures 20” across the back but the front is designed to fall loosely. The front (laid flat) actually overlaps. Each front half is approximately 13” so the total circumference (back + front) is 46”. Plus it is a stretchy fabric. BTW just noticed the tag is still on the garment. Hope this helps.
