Extremely high quality garment construction and hardware fixtures! Made in America from Scottish wool. Vintage from the looks of the tag 1960's or 70's but could possibly be from the 1950's too. Unfortunately it doesn't fit me so I have to resell it. Vintage size 14 with no stretch at all in the fabric so it's 14'' waist measured flat or 28'' waist circumference. Equates to modern size 6 or 8, or size medium in skirts. Skirt length is about 30 inches long. Unlined and there are no pockets. Color is a rich and vibrant scarlet or cherry red - absolutely stunning in-person! Great autumnal or winter statement skirt! The quality is amazing with a substantial drape to the fabric. Ballantyne was a heritage Scottish cashmere mill founded 1921 and recognized by Queen Elizabeth in 1966 & 2004 with Queen's Awards for their quality. In addition to their own garments, they supplied cashmere for luxury brands like Harrods, Burberry, Loro Piana, and I Magnin. Unfortunately the company was sold, the mill dismantled, and production moved to Italy where prices were inflated and quality declined.
