Its name is believed to come either from the Chara River, near its only known source, or from the Russian word "chary," meaning "charms" or "magic," due to its enchanting appearance. Charoite is a rare and striking silicate mineral known for its vibrant purple, lilac, and violet hues, often swirling with patterns of white, black, and sometimes other colors like golden-yellow or green.
