One purely unique Charoite oval palm stone (D1)
(1.1 oz)
Discovered in the 1940s in the Sakha Republic of Siberia, Russia, it was not officially recognized as a new mineral until 1978. Its name is believed to come either from the Chara River, near its only known source, or from the Russian word "chary," meaning "charms" or "magic," due to its enchanting appearance.
Charoite is a rare and striking silicate mineral known for its vibrant purple, lilac, and violet hues, often swirling with patterns of white, black, and sometimes other colors like golden-yellow or green. Its unique appearance, which often includes a pearly luster and chatoyancy (a shimmering effect), led some to initially believe it was artificially dyed.
