The bells are a silver color and make it look so realistic. They are accented with holly leaves. Overall the plates are in excellent condition with the exception of some chips on the back lip on the inside. They do not effect the front. Food safe. Each plate is 9 inches round. Housekeeping: My descriptions are very to the point. I am rarely going to give a soliloquy about the usage. I will sometimes note the providence if it is a rare piece. I note size and flaws. Finding, cleaning, and selling all my finds give me great joy. It’s amazing to see where each piece goes! Each item is vintage or antique.
