This is a vintage “Les Must de Cartier” crossbody purse from the 1970s. It’s “Cartier Red” suede with matching burgundy leather trim. There is a leather patch on the front with the “CC” logo and a belt detail around the top. It has a zipper closure to the main compartment. The interior is also leather with a Cartier metal tag (les must de Cartier, Rd 1975, Paris). It has an adjustable strap (can be used as a purse or crossbody bag) and all the strap/closure “hardware” is in the classic Cartier “C” design. It’s made in France and measures 11.5"w x 9.5":h x 2.5" d. It's been in a closet for many years so it has some minor indentations on the suede and some discoloration on the leather trim, but overall is in very good condition. The price reflects the fact that a little TLC by the new owner could make it like new. Please look at the photos carefully; we have done our best to show all aspects of age and wear on this hard-to-find and almost 50-year-old bag. The only example we could find of this rare bag sold online for $334 Euros ($363). Similar “Les Must de Cartier” bags run from $195 to well over $300 pre-owned. The original price for the item was somewhere north of $1,000. If you want to buy a new “Must de Cartier” bag now, it’s going to cost over $3,000.
