About the brand: Together with her husband, Jan Januara, Carol Anderson started her namesake clothing line, Carol Anderson California, from the garage of her Burbank home in 1977, with a start-up fund of $800.00. She received breakthrough exposure with an order from Nordstrom later that same year. Over the subsequent 25 years her collections were carried by Bloomingdale’s department stores as well as Nordstrom, and by specialty private boutiques across the United States. Carol Anderson retired in 2014.
