Originally released in March of 1970, by Atlantic Records in a Textured Faux-Leather Gatefold Dust Jacket. The album topped the Billboard 200 chart for one week and generated three US Top 40 singles: 'Woodstock', 'Teach Your Children', and 'Our House'. In 2003, the album was included in several editions of Rolling Stone magazine's list of "the 500 greatest albums of all time," and was ultimately certified 7x platinum by RIAA in the US.
