Alexander McQueen Spring 2008 Corseted Nude Peekaboo Illusion Dress Size 40 IT / 6 US (Fits True) Measurements: Has stretch, should be skin-tight: 32-34"+B 24-28"W 34-37"H 37"L This is a rare piece from Alexander McQueen's Spring 2008 "La Dame Bleue" Collection. This collection was a tribute to his best friend and muse Isabella Blow and as such is one of his most personal and intimate collections. A more theatrical version was shown on the runway - this is essentially the same cut with a shallower v-neck and unpadded cap sleeves. It's just as striking but far more wearable. The silhouette is a skin-tight pencil dress, done in a dense stretch crepe with full whalebone corsetry inserts and a sumptuous silk satin lining. It features a sculpted v-neck with cleavage-boosting tailoring, structured cap sleeves, a nipped in waist, rounded hips and a pegged legline. The hips are constructed to add a sculptural fabric panel that sweeps from the lower back and then flares out from the tight waist to reveal the nude-lined rear pockets. The peekaboo nude pocket was a signature look of Isabella Blow and McQueen references it here - it's hard to photograph, but it looks like the dress flares out to reveal erotic peekaboo slivers of your actual hip. It comes from a collector and is in mint worn once/cleaned/put into storage vintage condition. No issues.
