Chikaramachi Ware: A product of Chikaramachi, a factory in Nagoya, Japan, known for producing hand-painted porcelain, often associated with Noritake. The "HAND PAINTED" inscription indicates that the decoration on the piece was applied by hand, adding to its value and artistry. Made of egg shell porcelain and hand-painted with lusterware—a signature element in Japanese produced china of the time. Produced between 1912 and March 1945, when the Noritake home offices were destroyed.
