*EDUCATIONAL POSTING—Do NOT PURCHASE* Friends, it’s truly unfathomable—& honestly quite disheartening—the level of outright deceit—along with misrepresentation out of ignorance—that’s occurring today, more than ever, in the resale boot industry. We’ve tried to not just sit idly by, & have created prior educational postings but, unfortunately, it’s just continuing to worsen. So we thought it time to revisit the matter—this time focusing on one of the current worst offenders: Lucchese sellers. It’s no exaggeration that at least 50%—as a conservative estimate—of the boot listings we see—on any given platform—has some significant error—either intentionally misleading or erroneously mislabeled & misrepresented in some way. Examples include: wrong gender category, incorrect size, width errors or omissions, condition/defect/damage misrepresentation &/or omissions, mislabeled brands, copies of boots, pricing errors, mismatched boots—either sizing or a new one we’re seeing: completely two different model number boots being sold as a matching set…& the list goes on! We’ve included some of these erroneous listings & issues in the images above—which should clearly speak for themselves—in our further efforts to educate the consumer. We again urge you to do your due diligence when purchasing so trusted boot sellers can be here to serve you, & most importantly, your hard earned money ain’t blowin in the wind! As James Bond says, “I know the rules, & number one is: there’s ‘no deals’.”

akcountrylove I truly appreciate the time & effort to explain these concerns to the innocent bystander. I worked at Boot Barn & know how hard it is for customers to pay an average of $400 on a pair of boots but the craftsmanship & materials that go in to that boot make it worth it. Luchesse boots are amazing.

botablu @patrickmcdavid Hi. We are not able to comment on specific listings or sellers. We do strongly suggest that you only purchase from trusted boot sellers. That will take any guesswork out of the equation.

mattyshoot83 Great post, lots of scammers all over this app. I'll spend good money on a great pair of older, American made boots, no Chinese junk, you've always got to be careful unless you know what to look for.

mattyshoot83 @botablu @patrickmcdavid ,look at the two posts from at Sir T's Trailorium, whoever that is, is trying to sell 2 pairs of Walmart, "bobo" brand Herman Survivors cowboy boots at $400 each, they are like $60 at your local "Wally World", there are so many scammers on here, best to stick with real deal sellers and people who know what they're talking about.

littlesuzie68 Peek at @kmmountain29. They are selling Lucchese lizard boots as alligator. I tried to help them in saying they were lizard and not alligator but they were nasty. They said they have proof. blocked me then increased the price. Before blocking me, Provided me with the interior numbers of boots that don’t match what’s in the listing as proof they were alligator. When I looked it up it was a completely different boot than what they are selling. Yes, always know what you are buying.

chrispistorio
chrispistorio I got my first pair second hand. I went into Lucchese and they verified that they are Classics and I got a great find. is there a way to identify my boots? I can upload pictures?
Jul 01Reply
botablu
botablu @chrispistorio Hi. If you’re referring to the same pair, Lucchese should have been able to provide most all the details you’d want. Unless they’re an older/vintage model, and then they’re not able to provide much info at all.

chrispistorio
chrispistorio @botablu I messaged corporate and they were so off lol my boots are full quill ostrich and customer service sent me a link to bullfrog boots

botablu @chrispistorio Oh wow. Sorry to hear that. It is the luck of the draw with all customer service these days. Some are highly trained and incredibly helpful.. others, not at all.😁

jmont91670 Lol. Oh yes the size/gender issue. I try telling sellers to please learn the difference between a mens 10 D and a womens size 10 B. Drives me nuts!

songofthesouth
songofthesouth I have noticed on the internet search engines there are bootleg sellers like Mensootd posting stolen pictures of the real boots to sell their junk for under $100. In some cases they claim they are leather and other times they admit they are man-made material. They are obviously not the same boots shown in their stolen photos when seen in person. I have contacted some of the companies to inform them.

botablu @songofthesouth All kinda of scamming going on out there, for sure! Have you received any response(s) from reporting it to the various brands?

waywardboots
waywardboots I am interested in a two pair n156054 and n154754. I can find 74 on Lucchese website but not 54. Also, there are no visible wedges on the bottoms of the boot. Did Lucchese have leather single soles without visible wedges?

botablu @prse2013 You’re welcome. Appreciate your comments. As is unfortunately par for the course these days, it’s made us a target of retaliation by these cowards who think they can hide behind their screens. But we don’t believe in cowering to criminals and bullies. We’ll continue to speak up and speak out. And, your interest and support helps us along… so thank you!

tejas_red
tejas_red So are 1883’s the low end generally with not full quills?
Dec 23Reply
botablu
botablu @tejas_red In response to the first part of your question: yes, in general 1883’s are their entry/most-affordable option. There are, of course, exceptions to every rule. “Full quill” has nothing to do with product lines—it’s a descriptor relating to Ostrich leather that has raised quills.

doodlemom_
doodlemom_ Hi! Are Lucchese 2000 in the lower end? Thanks for all the info!!
Feb 23Reply
botablu
botablu @doodlemom_ Hi. Yes, they tended to be more of an entry product line. Similar to 1883’s in that respect. However, there were 2000’s whose MSRP was not necessarily inexpensive either—especially their exotic skins—such as caiman. But comparatively, still generally not in the same league or expense as the higher-end lines.
Feb 24Reply
doodlemom_
doodlemom_ @botablu oh got it! Thank you!! what would resale value be? $200 or so? (In good condition)
Feb 24Reply
botablu
botablu @doodlemom_ It completely depends on a myriad of factors.

larryinla
larryinla reat post -and what is Poshmark doing to monitor this?
Mar 31Reply
botablu
botablu @larryinla Thanks. This isn’t just on Poshmark. Many of these examples above were taken from other platforms. We have complied thousands of examples of these type of listings. It’s a systemic problem going on—and not just with Lucchese’s either. Unfortunately the platforms don’t have the process, system, or any real adequate infrastructure in place to properly handle this. And what is in place—like flagging/reporting listings or sellers—regardless of what they claim—just doesn’t usually work.

junger357
junger357 Solid post, I’ve never owned cowboy boots do they fit like a sneaker? I’m a 7.5 sneaker.
Jun 18Reply
botablu
botablu @junger357 Thanks. If you’re referring to how they run, it depends on a number of factors such as the brand, vintage, sometimes shape, and so on. It’s best to work with a trusted boot seller on fit. We’re happy to help if you find ones in/around your size that interest you in our store.

kerryowens
kerryowens @botablu Isn't the 2000 the low end? 1883's are more desirable.
Dec 20Reply
botablu
botablu @kerryowens No. 1883’s were their entry line. But each line still had/has a range of price-points depending on many factors.

gabrielalyzette Anyway you can help me on some boots I just posted? I’ll gladly pay for this listing for helping me out. I’m having a hard time finding these boots online, but I don’t want to mislead anyone. I would greatly appreciate it!
Jan 07Reply
botablu
botablu @gabrielalyzette Hi. Your boots are vintage—which is why you can’t find them. Please contact us privately and we will try to help you out if you detail exactly what information you’re seeking.
