*EDUCATIONAL POSTING—Do NOT PURCHASE* Friends, it’s truly unfathomable—& honestly quite disheartening—the level of outright deceit—along with misrepresentation out of ignorance—that’s occurring today, more than ever, in the resale boot industry. We’ve tried to not just sit idly by, & have created prior educational postings but, unfortunately, it’s just continuing to worsen. So we thought it time to revisit the matter—this time focusing on one of the current worst offenders: Lucchese sellers. It’s no exaggeration that at least 50%—as a conservative estimate—of the boot listings we see—on any given platform—has some significant error—either intentionally misleading or erroneously mislabeled & misrepresented in some way. Examples include: wrong gender category, incorrect size, width errors or omissions, condition/defect/damage misrepresentation &/or omissions, mislabeled brands, copies of boots, pricing errors, mismatched boots—either sizing or a new one we’re seeing: completely two different model number boots being sold as a matching set…& the list goes on! We’ve included some of these erroneous listings & issues in the images above—which should clearly speak for themselves—in our further efforts to educate the consumer. We again urge you to do your due diligence when purchasing so trusted boot sellers can be here to serve you, & most importantly, your hard earned money ain’t blowin in the wind! As James Bond says, “I know the rules, & number one is: there’s ‘no deals’.”

botablu @scshop247 You’re welcome. Appreciate your interest and comments. It’s mind blowing, for sure. Yes, it’s happening in other categories and other brands, as well. And as long as consumers continue to support these sellers, the problems will, unfortunately, continue to grow exponentially.

botablu @loved808 You’re welcome. Some you can find that way. But particularly with Lucchese’s it’s not always that easy—especially if it’s an older, discontinued and/or vintage model.

jmont91670 Lol yes you nailed it. I message people and correct them all the time. I think there’s a lot of people selling thrift store finds. They don’t know anything about the boots. Numerous times they’re selling mens boots as womens. What adult can’t tell the size difference in a mens or womens shoe!

botablu @jmont91670 Thank you. 🙏🏻 Yes, all kinds of folks out there trying to make a quick buck and yes, the plethora of errors is frankly, quite horrifying.

klinketteshops Thank you! Have you seen any counterfeit boots posted? I always worry about that. Any pointers on that?
Feb 21Reply
botablu
botablu @klinketteshops If you’re referring to straight replicas, yes, we see those on a fairly regular basis. They especially love to copy brands such as Tin Haul, Corral, and have even seen some Old Gringo replicas. The good news is that they haven’t gotten very good (yet) at replicating anything close on the quality end, so they’re fairly easy to spot.

tccmo
tccmo I've had a lot of problems with lucchese sellers on Poshmark, mostly inactivity and no shipping. Poshmark is to blame.
Apr 28Reply
botablu
botablu @tccmo Agreed that it’s extremely problematic that Poshmark refuses to remove inactive accounts/sellers/listings. One small improvement is that right below this comment section they have a “last active” section. So you can see when the seller has last been active. Many say things such as “Aug 2020” & customers are still making offers and purchasing on those accounts. The only way this will change is constant pressure from folks such as yourself.

dinademonte
dinademonte Super informative as I have been looking for a pair of Lucchese boots and had no idea about this. I have seen it with designer shoes, so it makes sense with boots as well. I will be even more cautious and continue to probe for more photos of boots. Thanks again for taking the time to post this, I’m glad ithr post is allowed on here.

mnuge74
mnuge74 Thank you for the info! I feel like a lucky one. One of my best posh purchases was a pair of Lucchese boots for $50. They fit me so well and are so comfortable that they are my favorite boots.
Jul 27Reply
botablu
botablu @mnuge74 Great. Yes, sometimes we encounter fortunate experiences in life. More typically, folks tell us how they've spent significant amounts on numerous purchases that turned out to be less fortunate, until they may hit that jackpot. Personally, I'm not a gambler, and my recommendation is to always stick with trusted boot sellers who will ensure a successful boot buying experience, the first time.

piedmontlass
piedmontlass Thanks. A lot of the time I see a seller just being lazy with lack of info, but there is so much cheating and deception going on….it’s disheartening to say the least. This is good info!
Aug 01Reply
botablu
botablu @piedmontlass Great. I'm glad the information was helpful. In this space, most mistakes arise from ignorance or, yes, in some cases, laziness. Regardless of whether they are intentionally or unintentionally misleading, the outcome remains the same: customers like you and reputable businesses like ours, end up paying the price.
Aug 01Reply
piedmontlass
piedmontlass @botablu one thing I noticed is too many sellers with “vintage” or even newer boots that they haven’t bothered to even clean up. It doesn’t matter if it’s a good deal, if the leather is or will be cracking and splitting.

henson4873
henson4873 since posh takes like 20% of everything people sell why are they not doing more due diligence and deleting the ads that are misrepresented?!
Jan 24Reply
botablu
botablu @henson4873 Great question! We’ve been begging them to do so for 6-years. Their ‘report’ option is frankly, a joke. The only ones they seem to do anything about are “Replica” reports. However, they just dump the work back on sellers—who may or may not have any expertise in the brands or specific products that are reported—to determine if they’re real or fake. It’s a horrifying process.
Jan 25Reply
henson4873
henson4873 @botablu I agree I would be ashamed to admit how much I have spent on here. then when you receive the item you have a 50/50 shot of it actually being in the condition that the pictures show. thank you for putting this out there. I love my cowgirl boots but I am scared to purchase on here.
Jan 25Reply
yellowpetalshop
yellowpetalshop I am a Posh Seller and also purchase from Posh. I love Lucchese as they are quite the most comfortable boots I own. I have had quite a few pairs and luckily know a bit about them. I too am sick of the faux ads and incorrect listings and also those that have no idea what the width means B or C as they don’t think to post that. I’ve also noticed sellers who haven’t been active for 4 yrs why are they still showing up? Again thank you for taking the time to educate it is appreciated 😊
Jan 27Reply
botablu
botablu @yellowpetalshop Your so welcome. Yes, they’re great boots! And yes, lots of uneducated sellers plus those who are intentionally deceiving people. Greed. It’s ugly. Posh simply refuses to deactivate accounts and listings that are old. Frankly, at this point, maybe with all the sellers who have left this platform, if they actually did that, not much may be left! 😂 Funny, but oh so not!
Jan 27Reply
lenajo12
lenajo12 Quality boots are expensive! With good reason! Quality material is not cheap, but well worth the cost as it lasts longer and is more comfortable (once your boots broken in, they're very comfortable). Quality workmanship is a fine-tuned skill, and beautiful design is art. These talents deserve appreciation! Anyone whose worn high-end boots can attest to the difference these things make! I have MAD LOVE for beautiful western boots ❣️

mariaaggie
mariaaggie Brilliant post and thank you for reminding the community that fakes hurt EVERYONE. A fake can be resold over and over and traceability gets blurred so questionable origin/authenticity feels less dishonest or in the case of being duped, the feeling that you are just passing along as received.
Feb 29Reply
mariaaggie
mariaaggie The brand is extremely particular about stitching and quality of leathers they use. You will never see thin or low quality pets even on the more budget friendly lines. They are all exceptional leathers and construction only differing in the stitching detail and pattern (not the quality) and the type of leather (exotics like alligator and ostrich are always immaculate and even to a novice could be picked out as easily as a Hermes riding boot or Manolo alligator pump

amandagodkin
amandagodkin @botablu yes & I had my closet removed bc I couldn't send stuff after my house was destroyed by Ida & we had no power/water/internet/cell for 45 days & came online to find no closet listings but I can buy from a seller who hasn't been active since 2017 bc closet is up & running
Mar 28Reply
amandagodkin
amandagodkin and purchase no less than 5 pair of fake boots that were deemed authenticated because some random Poshmark seller/buyer took just one look at a photo that doesn't even resemble what I received. Posh offered no remedy & I got stuck with fakes
