Bustier steampunk corset says L, but runs S/M new

Another corset that didn’t work for me. Says L, but is S/M. Hook closures in front, lace up back 2 separate pieces laced together. Brocade and satin New, but small desperate smear on inside L chest. See closeup. I didn’t want to try to wash it! Says L, but runs S/M These are the most reasonable measurements considering appearance of laces.
