They are muted in color. I am not sure if they were manufactured this way or if it is fading. They do have some wrinkles. The pocket flaps and zipper flap do not lay completely flat. You might be able to iron them, I am unsure. Saying all of that, these shorts have a lot of life left. Please review all pictures and ask any questions you may have. The waist is about 17 inches and pulls to a max of about 17.5 inches. At the max, it might be tighter on. There is little to no stretch here. The rise is about 11.75 inches. The inseam is about 7.5 inches.
