mjpearson @kaccarr4 hi the dimensions are 13" L x 16.5" H x 3.5" D, I would consider it a large bag. As for the leather, the bag will stand up on its own with your stuff inside, but would not stand up on its own without stuff inside. With that being said maybe medium leather, would not consider it specifically hard or soft.
