Brass Tone Black Onyx Gemstone Dual Snake Serpent Medicine Pendant Vintage

This listing is for a brass tone, dual snake pendant. It is very detailed and quality piece. A chain is not including. There is not a signature on the piece that I can see. It measures approximately 1 5/8" long, and the black stone is open backed. It reminds me of a caduceus. The caduceus provided the basis for the astronomical symbol for planet Mercury. Thus, through its use in astrology, alchemy, and astronomy it has come to denote the planet Mercury and by extension the eponymous planetary metal. It is said that the wand would wake the sleeping and send the awake to sleep. If applied to the dying, their death was gentle; if applied to the dead, they returned to life.
