oliviaslair @lydiadan1 I promise I’ll shut up after this! Lol!! You have such delicious pieces in your closet!!! Now, I’m only letting you know this for the helping to spit Juliana. And it is a touch one! And I’ve been studying it for well has to be 16 years! I was in this group which at that time, was the only net site which vintage jewelry people, collectors & sellers had to go to chat & sell.

oliviaslair @lydiadan1 It began back in ‘98. So in this group, we began noticing some very distinct pieces which we all had, but zero idea of the maker. The hunt went on until someone found a piece with the original Juliana paper hangtag! And that was a jubilant day! From there, Mr Delizza was found & began the endless source of mass questions! In 2006, after much requests, he did put together a paperback book with original sketches, history, what pieces use & don’t use.

oliviaslair @lydiadan1 We each received our coveted autographed copies! I eventually left the group however was still in contact with many & I continued to learn & study it. It was actually on here in my original closet that a woman contacted me on a brooch which I’d labeled Juliana, as it was in one of the identification books, however, we’ve discovered there are a number of mistakes in the early books.

oliviaslair @lydiadan1 Now back then on Posh, there weee not as many designer pieces, & you didn’t have the wholesale people buying through huge import sites. Well, the woman who contacted me because she noticed I had quite a familiarity with Juliana & she & another woman just started a Juliana study group on Facebook & asked me to join.

oliviaslair @lydiadan1 Turns out she was an author , along with the other wom who are the “leaders.” Back then, you basically had to be asked by one of the two authors, or if someone was wanting someone to join, they basically had to prove themselves lol!

oliviaslair @lydiadan1 The group is not one you can find. All the grouo does is study the jewelry, oh & there are learning files which all may be read, & we have to ask questions a specific way! No matter how many years, we all continue learning, as there is just so so many things which they did do on pieces, & didn’t. So I will get some brooches together & send to you to show some telltale signs.

oliviaslair @lydiadan1 So the two you have up are both not Juliana. They are part of that “unsigned beauties” world & so frustrating! One thing I can tell you off the bat is that that pin back with the one piece riveted is something they never used, save for one or two pieces, & that’s about it. The other one which has the “built in” as we call it, those pinnacle will go in a diagonal on those brooches. So I’ll do what I can to get some pieces out for ya!
