This light weight metal boomerang was made out of 1.7 mm Aluminum sheet and painted bright red on both surfaces for visibility in flight. Although every boomerang must be thrown with safety in mind, this Boomalum is a lot safer to throw and catch than many of the Paxolin and wooden models. This Boomalum was made in the mid 1980s. These boomerangs are easy to tune. The omega generally has a flight range of 40-60 metres with excellent wind resistance and it works great in low wind conditions as well
Mickey Kinley is the maker of Boomalums, the first long distance boomerangs made out of Aluminum. Mickey is a famous and early pioneer in the long distance event. His name doesn't show up in the record books because he rarely went to tournaments, but his boomalums were the boomerangs of choice in the long distance event for many years.
