Reiko Miyagi is a Japanese artist based in the United States who founded Studio Tabula Rasa in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work is often inspired by the ancient Japanese belief of "Yaoyorozu no kami," which means that all beings and objects have a spirit and divinity within.
The plates are made of white stoneware with hand-painted black slip and sgraffito decoration, an organic shape, and sometimes incised rims.
