Black Wood Hand Carved Container, Bowl with Lid Carved Design African Inspired. No markings. I believe this is a hand made vessel with black paint and then the artist carved a design to reveal the beauty of the wood. Two pieces. The lid has a knob on the top and fits easily and smoothly onto the bowl. The bottom of the bowl is not perfectly flat; therefore, wobbles just a touch and will "spin" if given a nudge. Crafted out of a very hard wood. There are no splits in the wood. Very interesting piece. Approximate measurements: diameter of base: 4.25" height of bowl and lid: 3.75" width of bowl at widest point: 5"
