I call this shirt "Black and Blues" because that's what it is. It was a nice medium blue color that leaned a little bit toward turquoise. You can still see that color in the background. But! It was only one color. I have nothing against single color shirts. I own and wear several. But! I don't want to do that every day. So I added a layer of blue colors, and since there was nowhere left to go but up, I added another layer of black that breaks toward very dark blue. I like the effect. I have another blue shirt arriving today that needs my help. I'll probably do something similar, but different, with that one. Sooner or later one of these will end up in my personal wardrobe. This shirt is in excellent condition. If I was selling new shirts I would have to charge hundreds of dollars. I like these Tommy Bahama silk shirts because They are a heavy weight silk that's very comfortable. And they are machine washable. Most of my shirts have been tied up at least once, if not several times, but I also use other techniques. I'm trying to create an illusion of depth by breaking all sorts of basic rules and beautiful dyes. I'm using colorfast Procion dye. After I dye them I wash everything in Synthrapol once and unscented detergent that is formulated for sensitive skin twice. Even after this shirt becomes an old rag, it will still be colorful.
