Bjørn Wiinblad Annual Christmas Plate By Rosenthal Studio 1972 - Ltd Ed Vintage

Highly collectible, this beautiful vintage Christmas plate is made of porcelain by the famous Danish artist Bjørn Wiinblad for Rosenthal Studio-Line collection in Germany. This plate is in mint condition. ~ From 1972, this motif is called "Caspar" ~ Porcelain with 24-carat gold details ~ Measurements: 11.25" diameter, .75" high ~ Wall hanger on back ~ Limited Edition This first series, produced from '71-'82, consisted of 12 plates with biblical motifs. The second series, produced from '83-'94, featured 12 plates with scenes inspired by famous Christmas carols.  In biblical tradition, the name Caspar is associated with one of the Three Wise Men. While the Bible doesn't explicitly name them, tradition and folklore assign the name Caspar to the wise man who brought the gift of frankincense.  Bjørn Wiinblad Was called "The Happy Son of Nature". His large and deep love of oriental art is reflected in this collection. He was trained by Aksel Jørgensen in his early years. Bjørn Wiinblad was Born in 1918 in Copenhagen and died in 2006. AN14
