Best Vintage Picture Cookbook Time Life 1950 Illustrated Hardcover

Fabulous Classic 1950s Hardcover Illustrated cookbook published by Time Incorporated, NEW YORK Originally printed in 1958 this is the 3rd edition printed 1960. The book has a bright red and orange cover and measures 14.50x 10.50 x 0.50. The cover has few signs of age but teally good condition for a cookbook. The pages are all in excellent condition and there is no writing like I do in my cookbooks ! The book is filled with stunning illustrations from the 1950s and its just beautifully illustrated and has some fabulous recipes. There’s an illustration of a man roasting steaks over a fire pit at home, as well as illustrations of Manhattan vs. New England clam chowders. The mid-century recipes include appetizers main dishes , and deserts as well as an international section on Indian, Chinese, French and Italian foods. It includes so many through guides such as wine buying or hosting brunch or summer dinner parties. Overall a great historical well preserved cookbook from the era when life seemed a bit calmer and families actually ate meals together and entertained with lots of joy.
