Beautiful Vintage Enesco Japan Personal Ashtrays Or Trinket Dishes

Set of two vintage Enesco Japan floral decorative personal ashtrays or trinket dishes. One dish features a black background with pink and white flowers. The other dish has a red background with multicolored flowers. Both dishes have gold accents. These two vintage dishes are a testament to the mid-century modern style that originated in Japan. One is red and the other is black. These were all hand painted. As these were originally used as personal ashtrays, they all have four places on each dish, painted in bright gold, to hold cigarettes. Since smoking isn't quite so fashionable anymore, these would make beautiful little trinket dishes. The primary material used is porcelain, along with the paint and gold accents. Each dish has a diameter of 3 1/4 inches. They are in great Vintage condition with no chips, cracks or signs of use as ashtrays. There are clean with beautiful bright colors. There are a few manufacturers flaws on the bottom where there are a couple of dots of black paint on the black floral dish and the same with the red dish. I don't see any crazing on either one. The gold on both dishes is intact but showing signs of wear where it isn't as bright. Since these are from after 1952 I would recommend NOT USING THEM FOR FOOD. I would hand wash them. DO NOT USE IN MICROWAVE OR DISHWASHER. For pieces that are about 75 years old these are in excellent condition. Reference: Store Supply #2
