Beautiful Delft Blue Hand Painted Cut Out heart porcelain tri let dish.
The back has a backstamp from the piece of Delftware pottery. The text on the stamp reads "HANDPAINTED DELFT BLUE." Unfortunately I cannot make out much of the stamp on the bottom.
Delftware is a type of tin-glazed pottery with a distinctive blue and white design.
It originated in the city of Delft in the Netherlands in the 17th century, inspired by Chinese porcelain.
The blue color is achieved by painting the pottery with a paint containing cobalt oxide, which turns a brilliant blue after firing.
Delftware is known for its intricate designs, which often feature Dutch countryside scenes, windmills, and tulips.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no wear noted. There are no chips or cracks. The inside is clean as well.
