Beautiful Art Deco Dark Cherry Amber Carved Bakelite Horse~Rare & Extraordinary.

Developed by a Belgian chemist named Leo Baekeland in 1907, Bakelite was the first plastic made from synthetic components. The height of this jewelry was the late 1930’s until the end of the first Art Deco Period. This Dark Cherry carved brooch pops in transmitted light. It has both fire & depth which makes it more valuable; a magnificent beauty, bold & rich, with finely carved details . This piece is remarkably bright & undamaged.
