Drink from the cups of history! After World War II, the Allied forces occupied Japan for seven years, and during the occupation period, most Japanese goods imported to the U.S. carried the mark "Occupied Japan." This vintage was made during the post WWII era from 1947 to 1952 and is highly collectible. The American Company Ardalt Lenwile imported Occupied Japan’s porcelain goods during this period – everything from tea and coffee sets, dinnerware, figurines, beer steins, etc. The markings are still clear and visible, stamped as follows – ARDALT LENWILE China OCCUPIED JAPAN. Beautiful flowers and butterflies are intricately hand painted on each piece. The contrast between the vivid designs and the black background makes these pieces truly stunning. For an extra touch of elegance, each piece is rimmed in gold. The artist is very successful in conveying the beauty of love, even at times of war and suppression.
