Beautiful AAA Tourmaline Beaded Necklace with Vintage Cloisonné Koi Fish

This beautiful hand knotted necklace was composed with AAA Multicolor Pink, Green, & Cognac Tourmaline 10mm Beads. This vintage Cloisonné Koi Fish is a rare find. It has a baIe allowing the necklace to be worn with or without the Koi. The cloisonné Koi fish originates from traditional Chinese craftsmanship. A technique involving metal wires soldered onto a metal base to form compartments, which then were filled with enamel and fired. This art form dates back to the Yuan Dynasty and flourished during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with fish motifs symbolizing prosperity and perseverance in Chinese culture. During the Cultural Revolution (1966 -1976) these crafts were disrupted. This charm was sourced from prior inventory. Few original pieces remain. The age is unknown, but it is very special. The necklace length is 28 inches. Toggle clasp is 14Kt. gold plated.
