This Marcelle Dulac piece is simply awesome! Burgeoning ANTIQUE!
Condition is good; there are a few small inclusions on the piece, but nothing that compromises the integrity of the art; pictures are an accurate depiction of condition.
It is made from a heavy, dense clay, and the finishing glazes are so rich!
Marcelle Dulac was a sort of Renaissance artist in New York in the 1920s-1940s; he focused mainly on painting and photography, but also dabbled in pottery and sculpture from time to time.
This dark blueish-black and turquoise idol vase/ face jug is substantial and weighty. She looks to have been created using a potter's wheel as well as some hand-sculpted features....she has wonderful character!
This piece measures about 10.5" tall and 9.25" across (measured ear to ear)
