Meet Sam, my 3ish year old boxer rescue via Atlanta Boxer Rescue. Sam is quite the star in his hometown area of Atlanta, GA. His story is very touching and full of hope for all strays who just want a home. From a rural N Georgia animal shelter into the hearts of many, he landed into his home base of ABR which brought him to me. What a prize I won when he chose me to adopt him! He now calls home Knoxville, TN & I couldn't be more in love with this guy. Sam fought all odds. Sam is totally blind.

jacqueray @ shorelore !!!! You are a double time superstar of the day!!! I totttallly love all people but then there are real dirtied up and worn out animal people from the rescue core. We just find such comfort in meeting others who support and participate in the world of animal rescue. I wish you could read a listing where I ran into like minds jus early in the day yesterday. So it almost broke into a bit of therapy even for me as I drifted into chatting about the past 3 months. I haven't really been able to absorb the whole hurricane that just passed through my menagerie and entire life as I have been very preoccupied with other life changes and animal blending and a new home....etc..... =O Just wondering how you stumbled across this listing? I have a Yorkie, but after my divorce was final and I sold my farm, my ex decided to take Rocky (Yorkie ) and I would get the other 2 that were still there with him. It has been a hard thing to sacrifice, but I have never once worried about the care they have received by him. Otherwise I probably would have fought for them all to come. ♡ my babie

He is an amazing dog that has a miraculous story. I am blessed. And yes....As I long as they are loved and cared for, otherwise I won't go away without a fight!! =)

lmpasternack @jacqueray the beautiful Boxer at the Rescue I work with beat all the odds and survived enciphilitis (I believe) and he is partially paralyzed and completely incontinent but he doesn't know any other way, it happened to him as a puppy. He is a happy dog that greets people with love and lots of kisses at Go Rescue! I love him!

jacqueray Awwwww... @impasternack you are so sweet. That's my precious boy Sam. He is my angel baby. I've taken in over 60 various animals and made my farm their forever home, and of course, I have loved them all the same, but he is now only one of the 2 dogs I have left. I truly believe that his rescue and residential address (lol)now being the same as mine is nothing short of a miracle....and not just for Sam. This completely blind pup was found wondering down a dirt road but now at a very rural high kill shelter. How he wound up landing in such beautiful hands and hearts, when Atlanta Boxer Rescue was alerted about his fight for life, is almost mind boggling. Living suddenly became a real option for Sam when they promptly pulled and placed him into his wonderful foster parents care. Naturally I appreciate and love every good ending to each rescued animal's story, but with so many that I, alone, have ultimately experienced none were nearly as profound or had the twists and turns that Sam's has. How blessed our lives are.... to become changed people just from an animal's love. My scrumptious boy is laying right here, snoring like a Pro.... I will make sure to tell him about your comment. =D In the meantime, his Momma will thank you for the kind words and allowing me to blab about him yet again. =/ I just love animal people. jacqueray @cocoamy sigh.....better late than never??? I'm going through my closet and here is your sweet question about Sam. No, it doesn't appear that anything is possible to reverse the problem. He was found as a puppy like this, so it is probably a genetic thing that he is going to live with forever. I don't know exactly how he would adjust at this point anyway. Or maybe mama just doesn't want to make him shift into yet another change in life. He doesn't know anything different and he really does an amazing job! =) Thanks for asking about Sam!

ericamoss I just read all the comments. You are such a wonderful woman. I love animals so much but I don't know if I could be strong enough to listen to some of the stories about the pups or be around them. It was hard reading about Sam. Heart breaking. This doggie is very loved and blessed now ❤️ I'm so grateful for that :)

jacqueray @ericamoss awww. You are sweet. Sam loves you too. No. We do not k ow what cause d the blindness. The only likely conclusion was that he had some genetic issue and was born blind. In my gut I tend to believe is was from birth. He was found wandering down a very rural dirt road in northern GA. I think he was a breeding mishap and they just put him out. It is a miracle that he made it as far as he did. Then a super miracle that Atlanta Boxer Rescue found out about him and pulled him from that pound he was buying time at. I'm gonna write a book about Sam. He saved me when I needed it the most. I wish you could hear him. He is snoring up a storm right now. Lol

jacqueray @ericamoss is is hard to read about Sam and worse, seeing a picture taken of him right after he was taken by ABR. He was laying on his fosters floor and you could still see all of his bones protruding through his skin. I cry every time I look at it.

jacqueray @anna_redbridge I wish i had given you my grocery list. Ha. We run out to the store too. The difference is we end up never getting a drop of snow and then even when we do, it's gone from the streets within 24-48 hours. Hardly needing 2 loaves of bread. Lol. I don't want you to go back to work!!! Who will I cut up with?!? Tell Sil to just send the skirt whenever. I'm not with plans to wear anything like that in the immediate future. Will wear it to something though with the perfect boots I think though. Anyway, I'm glad it is going to snow and our Italian goddess is home. Whew! I didn't know if I needed to do a jail break or what? Grin. Bless her heart. Behave hot mama!!

But I know I can't...we still have a mortgage to pay on our home, and it's not possible on one salary...LOL...besides, my colleagues miss me..LOL..at least that's what they tell me!! anna_redbridge @jacqueray Hi...sorry to bother you, but I need to double check on up the measurements for the cardigan that I'm working on. The back measurements from shoulder to shoulder appear too small (size of xs or small)... Could you possibly retake the measurements perhaps using a cardigan that you normally ware?? I don't want to make something that you will not end up waring ...you know what I mean😊...thank you...also, all the packages were sent today, but for the life of me I could not find the elephant bracelet. I will search again and if I find it I will send it separately or I'll make another this weekend. I'm so sorry, I know you were looking forward to it😕...in my haste to ship, I also forgot the most important thing...a note ...to thank you for supporting my closet...again..I'm sooooo sorry!!! jacqueray @ridinghood13 I couldn't agree more. It's all I've had tho. Ha. Been actively involved since I began my career out of college. Started slowing down about 5 years ago. Basically I was ready to take a breather and enjoyed what I already had down to now. Late summer of last year I lost 2 dogs and 1 horse. So you never know unfortunately what months will thrive and then when that 3 round is coming. (it seems that we've always lost them in 3's) Sam is the last I have taken and h was a surprise really. I felt compelled tho to be this boys momma. It is an incredible rescue story. So God willing I will have what is still thriving through at least 2020. I'll gladly take them every day they wake breathing and thriving. I very often say that I may have rescued them on paper but they rescued me in heart. I'm sure you can understand that quite well. Love my animal peeps!

shadowsgems He is precious. I have two rescue dogs. Lucky & Rufus. Poodle & Papillon. My other dog shadow. Went blind 4years before he died. It was very challenging to keep him safe. I had to move chairs in the kitchen & keep them in a different room so he wouldn't get stuck. I put foam rubber around kitchen table legs. He would walk into things all the time. It was a lot of work. It brought such joy to me I would do it again. Nice to meet you on posh's website . Your closet is very nice. My name is Ann. I live on East Coast in the smallest state. Mine are absolutely my heart, I'm way too attached to them. Don't know how anyone can be cruel to an animal. Infuriates me.

dixiebella64 @jacqueray I see your heart for Africa. I have a young lady I've adopted & she has been to Swaziland twice working at an orphanage. She's a nurse & has just had an opportunity to go back for year so we are praying about that. She is her happiest when she's there with those babies. I'll miss her terribly but I know that's where she needs to be.
