I hear ya!
I bought a Rae Dunn pumpkin for my moms birthday, and it arrived broken. Sadly, mom never got to see it, she passed Oct 17 suddenly. Her birthday was October 24. I was so heartbroken, she loved Halloween. The seller didn’t have it bubble wrapped. Only with brown paper. Sorry this happened to you.

Yup!! Good advice! 😊👍🏼
I double bubble wrap usually with the larger bubble wrap then wrap in paper & use other materials like paper to stuff all over in box to avoid shifting. That’s key! Avoid shifting! Never had anything break doing this!

@adriennebebow Wow! I'm so sorry. May her memory be a blessing. ❤

@lemontreemarket I was bummed...it was a gift. She did double box, as I requested, but that doesn't matter if there's shifting room & especially multiple breakables to crash into each other.

@acelestialsoul Hi, Tricia! If you didn't ship my Mele Kalikimaka Sandal 🩴ornament yet, please be sure to package well. This is what happened to my last ceramic order (NOT from you). I know you're a pro; I'm just paranoid, lol!

@bethmgold Yes, it was double - bubble wrapped, packed in a box with padding above and below the piece. :) It went out yesterday.

@acelestialsoul Thank you so much! 😘

@kirbyham14 Hi! When you package the glass mug I just bought from you, please pack it well so it doesn't break. See above. Make sure there's no room for shifting with lots of paper/ bubble wrap & double box.
Thanks!

It’s good to put the items in plastic to protect as well. I bought a purse a while back and as soon as I brought the package in, I smelled a strong gasoline odor and somehow along the way the package got doused in either gasoline or kerosene (which in no way was this the sellers fault) but since the bag was not in plastic, it had the whatever it was all over it! Luckily it wasn’t real leather so I was able to clean it but if it had been real leather, it would have been ruined!

@dzoobaby Of course! I'm just talking about breakables.
All of my clothing, shoes, bags go in a cellophane bag first. 🥰

@diamonds0314 Hi! Just in case you didn't ship my package yet, I wanted you to see this post. Please pack well so nothing breaks. If you can, smaller boxes for each burner & then put them in a bigger box.
These mugs smashed into each other before they got to me. ☹️
And skip the fragile stickers. I think what they're actually reading is "kick me." lol!
Thanks!

@diamonds0314 ❤️ I had one shipping breakage...it was a super cute ceramic kitty bowl set. I was so bummed. I packed it so well with bubble wrap & paper. That's when I learned double boxing would have been the way to go. It looked like U.S.P.S. played soccer with it.
A little prayer is a great extra effort!!!!

@bethmgold that's awful!!! just ridiculous the postal workers don't take care of things better. my husband and alot of my family and his are retired postal workers and it's changed so much since they all were there!!

@diamonds0314 I will say my mail carrier is wonderful. I had a package misdelivered by someone else & she spotted it & hand delivered it to me. ❤️

@twhee2 Hi Tiffany! I just accepted your terrific offer for the Rae Dunn dog bowls. I've had items break during shipping (both ones I've sold & ones I've bought). Please see this post. Doing all of this will help prevent breakage. Thanks! Also, I think attaching labels that say fragile sadly are equivalent to saying "Drop Me" 🤦🏼♀️

@inthistogether Unfortunately, this was a gift for a friend. I didn't make a claim b/c it was several mugs & one survived & one had minor damage. My friend still wanted it.
Dec 21Reply

inthistogether
@bethmgold 😭 Oh no! It's the worst when you're purchasing something for a gift and it comes broken - so disappointing but I'm glad at least one survived!

@bethmgold Do you remember doing that egg challenge as a kid at school where they have you try and construct the safest structure to drop an egg from high up and have it not crack? I feel like that one lesson in elementary school has made me a packing pro lols - not allowing space for an item to shift around is so key and I basically assume my USPS will put my package through the ringer
Dec 21Reply

inthistogether
@bethmgold I did have a customer leave me a review once that I used "excessive packaging" 😂 but it was worth it to have her fragile item arrive intact
Dec 21Reply

bethmgold
@inthistogether No, I never did that in school. But I think I heard of it & I saw something like that on Abbott Elementary.
That's crazy about the excessive packaging comment. I would then tag them on this post & explain my reasoning. But I also write on every package "Please reuse/recycle box & packaging. ♻️ Every day is Earth Day."
Dec 21Reply

inthistogether
@bethmgold lol yes, a couple yrs ago but that note still makes me giggle a little! Could I steal that idea of putting a message inside about reusing and recycling - love it! I've been trying to go more green and reuse materials as much as possible/substitute more packing paper for bubble wrap, but I still use polymailers/some sort of waterproof packaging even if the item is inside a box since I've heard too many stories of packages being soaked in rain and snow and the contents ruined.

@barjonie1978 Done! btw- this one is an info listing. You can still feel free to bring it up during your show to remind people to pack items carefully. I received these mugs like this b/c the seller didn't pack them properly.
Thanks!
