This is a completely authentic one owner original brushed charcoal suede 1950s Bass purse satchel. It comes with a soft fawn colored leather lining with the original hand mirror, golden cord attached coin purse, and stamped Bass insignia. Beautiful brass snap enclosure balls and trim. The woman who owned it was a Bass employee in Virginia in the 1950s. This elegant leather specialty company was the famous inventor of the Penny Loafer and Weejuns. This is a remarkable find for the authentic mid century couture collector. Bass is the great All American success story. George Henry Bass undertook his legacy in 1867 when he bought out the shoe company he worked for in Maine. One hundred years later you would have found Bass stores in every major city in America, and Bass shoes and accessories being worn by the Kennedy family, Paul Newman, Michael Jackson and more. It was, and still is, the ultimate statement of refinement and durability. It has very light wear for its 80 years where the strap meets the brass loops. 7 inches tall. 8.5 inches long at the base, 2.5 inches wide, and 17 inch leather tote strap. Wrapped and shipped carefully.
