After they made this announcement at Poshfest, I asked 2 different people in leadership positions if Shares and Followers were still going to be important. I was told YES! They both said something to the effect that Sharing and Following "the right way" would always be a part of the platform As I have digested this information, and thought about how the shares and followers data is used, or could be used, this is MY personal interpretation of this change. Yes, it is to get a buyer information that might help them. However, since it has always been the actual policy of poshmark to say that Automated services to do such things as follow and share other closets was not allowed, removing of this data from this place could also be aimed at those using or rather misusing these services. Just like those that automatically delisted and relisted their entire hundreds of items in their closet on a daily basis resulted in the new delisting policy. (I am not judging those that have chosen to use a service, I understand how crazy life is.....I am just pointing out that "technically" while Posh may support a company, it is up to each individual to use their own discretion on what services to use that a company offers) As far as I know the information in your news feed that you can filter for items that have been shared and those that are following you will not change, and you can access information there.

acelestialsoul Shares done “by hand” w/o a bot are WAY DOWN since PM changed the share button. It often opens the listing instead of sharing & is super irritating.) I’ve had multiple tech problems sending messages on my own items & during parties. PM IT took DAYS to fix that!. I had to go to PM social media to ask for help since PM CS was so backlogged with problems. Every Poshfest PM screws around with the app & causes issues. Note: I DON’T use any bots.

acelestialsoul @peatandrepeat 👎Since PM changed the heading on listings (removing seller’s closet name and making the font smaller) the share button has been broken. 👎The like and bundle buttons on the screen of my listings is dumb. Way too many “oops liked by mistake” time wasting nonsense from that. 👎Not being able to send a bundle message w/o a “buyer” liking an item stinks. Too much is broken.

bell1971 @peatandrepeat Well the follow button means a lot to me. I follow a lot and have received many sales from NEW followers. They can’t ever leave anything a lone. I follow the followers of my other PFFS to get more followers. So I won’t be able to do this anymore ???

peatandrepeat @bell1971 you will have to go to your news feed page and filter to followers to see who all recently followed you as far as I can tell. I dont have the update yet, so I am not sure if the moved what was in the banner to another place

southpawsfinds @peatandrepeat Hi Jo - have we ever been able to see which closets we've shared in the news feed, and # of items? I've only ever been able to see who shared mine, and what item. When you're in a share group, and you have 20+ signed up and your sharing 20+ items for each closet, it was a help (if you lost count) to click your shares data and you could see the partial closet name, in any case.

bargaintwins @bell1971 Shelley! I have seen people say you have use a roundabout way to find it. I use my iPhone exclusively and this person used a desktop. I can still see them. I do not use an “Assistant” and every share and follow is personally my own. More information is needed 🤔

acelestialsoul @southpawsfinds During Poshfest there wasn’t any support left in the main office help to fix the “comment” problem. I already had an open ticket about the broken “share” button (which CS only sent a robot response.) I honestly think PM is making it as hard as possible for us to share each other’s items to FORCE us to pay for PAID promoted closets. (I WON’T do that)

southpawsfinds @acelestialsoul you could be right, and I agree. We already pay them a decent commission - esp for items $10 & under (30% + commish). I can go to 'yard sale' sites and give my things away w/out that commission.

southpawsfinds @acelestialsoul yep...I'm so tired of that banner...ugh! I just swipe up. I'm just not understanding their thought processes with all this though. It's a no-brainer that if our sales tank, so does their revenue. I've noticed for the past several months in organic Google searches items similar to ones I'm selling, nothing is appearing. Before, Poshmark items would show in the first page or just after. 🤨🤔

acelestialsoul @peatandrepeat I noticed you used tag lists to send this out. When I sent out my last “my shoppers” notification/sale, it seem to trigger the loss of my ability to make comments. (It took days for PM TO FIX. I had to comment to their social media sites.) Have you had this problem too?

acelestialsoul @peatandrepeat I’ve heard from a lot of people that use promoted closets that they didn’t get them any additional sales. It was also difficult to cancel, and that it wasn’t worth the fees. I will not be paying them more money to do the job that they promised me in the first place. We’re already paying the highest selling fee rate of most app/sites. I don’t pay to promote my items on other sites either.

acelestialsoul @peatandrepeat My shoppers maxes out under 4900. I’ve never seen it go up to 5000. My last “comment issue” occurred after I had sent out a sale promo my shoppers note and then the next day commented on a half a dozen host pic winners. Nothing unusual. I couldn’t send notes to my bundles who had likes, send them a message about an offer or comment on my own listings or answer questions about my listings.

acelestialsoul @southpawsfinds agree. The “closet promo” banner interfering with me viewing my closet stinks. I also agree about the Google search. PM search doesn’t work. Google doesn’t seem to “find” our items. I make clear, detailed descriptions with no icons. The PM feed is a real problem. Whenever I list a fresh item, I can’t find it in the feed. Duplicate items show up while I scroll to find my new listing. They must be prioritizing promo closets’ items or the repeat items are robo shares.

southpawsfinds And, if that's the case, then why are we doing all this sharing? oh, that's right...to get others to share to their followers. It just seems like a racket at times. I've thought for years that they shadow ban us and throttle us. That's why I want to know if they house their own data or if they outsource it. e*** got caught throttling sellers loooong ago after Google analytics debuted.
