This ball gown is a show-stopper! The beaded, sequined bodice features a flattering basque waist and tiny satin straps which cross in the back (added for the event and can easily be removed). The full circular skirt is comprised of four layers of tulle, two layers or horsehair (for body), a lining and a petticoat. This dress truly makes an entrance! It is the perfect dress for dancing and twirling, and the sparkle on the bodice catches all the points of the night light. This is the dress to create your perfect moment and your perfect memories! One flaw - eye on the back (hook and eye) is missing maybe from cleaning.

do you have measurements

@anoobbot420 it is very hard for me to hold down this big dress and get the measuring tape to stay in place. But from pit to pit, the dress measures 14 inches, and from one side of the waist to the other, it measures 13 inches. My daughter is a standard size 6 and we bought this dress off the rack and it did not need one alteration. Of course, when I give you the pit to pit measurements, there is some room for the bust so the bus measurement is probably 4 inches larger than that.

Actually, the bus measurement is probably larger than that. I would guess that the bus is around 35 to 36.

@margaret_reeves I sent pics to get it approved by our chapter. We will need all the length and will not need to alter the hem. Is it clean enough on the bottom hem so that we can wear as is? I assume your daughter wore flats?

I also need a pic of the tag/style # to make sure no one in our chapter has it already to get approved.

@shannonsstuff I will see if I can find the receipt for that dress. I bought it at David’s bridal for the 2005 Durham debutante ball so it’s highly, highly unlikely that anyone would have this dress. We had the dress cleaned after the ball and it has not been touched since then the bottom is very clean. She could wear it just as is. We added the straps because our chapter did not allow the girls to wear strapless (wardrobe malfunction).

@shannonsstuff and yes, my daughter wore flats - well I take that back, she wore red cowboy boots at the last minute and got in quite a bit of trouble… I will tell you that this dress was spectacular out on the floor!

I think the tag has the style number, but sounds like I wont need it! Do you think I can fix the the hook and eye easily?

margaret_reeves
easy! just add a metal hook. Easy to place.

I just added a pic of the inside of the bodice. there is no tag at all but you can see how pristine the dress is. I tried to take a video of the movement of the skirt but can't seem to get the format right... Technology isn't for the old.

@shannonsstuff are you still interested?

@margaret_reeves I would love to buy it and I think it would be perfect but My chapter will not approve it at the moment. They feel it has too many sequins. There still may be a chance but can’t buy unless they approve.

let me know what they decide. Crazy, because I'm in NC where (except for my county) it's incredibly conservative/old Southern and the sequins weren't an issue. I''m going to slightly reduce the price of this in November.
