This serene, delicate, spiritual beauty is created by a highly skilled craftsman / artist in the Art Deco style which is characterized by smooth and elongated lines and shapes. Dewi Sri is the Javanese, Sundanese, and Balinese Hindu Goddess of rice and fertility, still widely worshipped on the islands of Java, Bali and Lombok in Indonesia. It is hand carved from high quality local tropical wood with exquisite details. Light in color. In great vintage condition overall with light age related wear and patina as pictured. It may miss a decoration piece on the top of her hair based on my research, but not sure. Measures approximately 3.7" x 2.7" x 21.6" tall.
