From Balenciaga’s Fall/Winter 2021 capsule, this Black & Red Small Destroyed Sweater represents the apex of Demna Gvasalia’s dystopian streetwear narrative. Though sometimes misattributed, this design is not by Jonathan Anderson; it is, unequivocally, the work of Demna, Balenciaga’s creative director, whose vision redefined luxury by embracing disorder, asymmetry, and social commentary. Crafted in a stretch wool-blend jacquard, this logo-laden knit is a textural riot of red, black, and grey, with intentional distressing, shredding, and raw edging throughout.
