Book Overview:
In the winter of 1919, a young mother named Matilda Neumann drowns beneath the ice of a rural Wisconsin lake. The shock of her death dramatically changes the lives of her daughter, troubled sister, and her husband… Told in the voices of several of the main characters and skipping back and forth in time, the narrative gradually and tantalizingly reveals the dark family secrets and the unsettling discoveries that lead to the truth of what actually happened the night of the drowning….
This book has a beautiful story although at the beginning it’s quite confusing for me because it’s back and forth from past and present. Each chapter revealed a new layer in the plot. There’s enough suspense which kept me from reading and only at the end that I fully comprehend what really happened on the night of drowning.
In excellent shape and condition. Very clean inside and outside. Very small wear present on the corners.
