In the early morning of Friday, October 3rd, after testing positive for Covid 19 at Kadlec Hospital in Richland Elijah's blood work came back with very low numbers across the board and he was immediately airlifted by Life-Flight to Sacred Heart Childrens Hospital in Spokane. Upon arrival he was admitted into intensive care where dozens of tests and procedures were done with great urgency in hopes of bringing Elijah into a more stable condition. These included putting Elijah under Anesthesia for the installation of a Mainline IV to administer medications and enable blood draws due to Elijah's veins being too small to reach. Two Lumbar Punctures were also done and full panel of bloodwork were sent in, including genetic and DNA testing. Heart, Brain, and Kidney ultrasounds were also performed in search of a cause to the abnormal levels in his blood. After severe dehydration and losing more than a pound Elijah has fought back to a stable condition and concerning levels in his blood have improved. One of his biggest issues is he is not feeding into the stomach they went directly in to the intestine, because he doesn't keep the formula down. He continues to feel better each day the concerns of finding a cause for all this still weigh heavy. The length of stay for Elijah in Spokane is still unknown as more scans and tests are necessary. His parents have been by his side from the beginning and will remain with him until he's released to return home.
