Nothing makes me envision faerie forests more than the Weller Pottery Warwick line. Warwick was released during what is known as The Middle Period (1918-1935). Famous for some of Weller's heavy hitter lines such as Lessa and Coppertone, star studded artists like Dorothy England Laughead molded Silvertone and worked on Garden Animals. This era brought less formal, lighter, and more figural art, a gentler recovery period from the first World War until the sorrow and poverty of the Great Depression. This split tree trunk vase holds the distinctive half bottle Weller kiln mark and number 30 on the base. Dark vines that open to flowers and beautiful bark textured sides make it a treasure to see and hold. I noticed crazing on the base and a tiny glaze imperfections at the very edge of the foot. Nine inches tall and five inches across the bottom.
