This preloved Prada vela medium backpack in Cerise (vibrant red color) was crafted from Prada’s signature Tessuto Nylon with red leather trim and features front buckle-closure pockets, a top handle, and adjustable nylon shoulder straps, making it both stylish and functional. The magnetic crossover flap opens to a drawstring closure, revealing a spacious interior lined with a dark brown jacquard Prada logo fabric and includes a zippered pocket for organization. Measurements: 11.5”Lx 6.25”W x 12”H.
This comes with Certificate of Autheticity (COA) located on the white ATM card with the Prada card as this is a vintage Prada. The Quality Assurance tag is faded but it appears to be 858. This has no box nor shopping bag. Please look at the pictures carefully, specifically pages 13-15 for call outs. Some discoloration on the left zippered pocket and red leather area at the back, cracking with some repairs done, tears on the inside pocket fabric.

@glossakyra I've had quite a few of these and I'm just curious about what makes this one vintage?
Sep 25Reply

glossakyra
@alulu22 vintage" if it is an older style, generally pre-2000s, and still retains its timeless design and high-quality craftsmanship. While there's no strict cut-off date, the term is often associated with pieces that reflect a brand's heritage and legacy, like Miuccia Prada's early waterproof nylon backpacks from the 1980s and 1990s. I believe this backpack was made in 1990s or maybe late 80s

I know what vintage means, I had a dealer tell me the brown one I had was vintage. It was missing the front pocket buckles as well as interior number. I sent it to be authenticated and it was counterfeit. And after looking up your authenticity card and compared the backpack that popped up vs what you have, I do not believe it is real. You may want to take it to prada and get it authenticated.

@alulu22 @alulu22 Thank you for your opinion. And i assume you searched it by entering BZ5885 ? That will not cut it, nor the ideal way to research authenticity of the product. See the magnetic strip on the COA card and the Prada Card with the bar code ?

glossakyra
@alulu22 : You actually have to scan it to get the real information. There is no possible way for you to be able get the information using the bar code either becauae I covered it so no one could be able to pull it up, copy it and make duplicates. I do not want to publish this for the general public where it can be copied by anyone..

@alulu22 I am very confident that this backpack is authentic because 1. I bought it at a legit auction house 2. I have the certificate of authenticity that is consistent with the product description such as Brand: Prada Product Type: Zaino (backpack)

alulu22
@glossakyra no that was my last step actually. It's the initial look of the bag like I said and the inside tag. Not to mention the prada logo on the front is wrong, plus your no buckles over the front pockets. While veila sport does make some backpacks, they do not make it in the color cerise. I left a comment a while ago but the measurements you have for this on is actually for a small.

@alulu22 Article Number: BZ5885 Material: Vela Sport ( a type of Nylon) Color : Cerise (cherry red) Origin: Italy. Personal proof : I will
be getting my authenticator certificate in a few months, thus, I have some experience judging if a product is authentic vs. fake. My question to you is : How did you arrive at the conclusion that I do not have proof of authenticity?

@alulu22 I am sorry if i kept replying to you is that I am a seller and a buyer here too and since these comments can be read by anyone who clicked on this backpack, i have a sense of duty to be transparent and be able to explain and justify my product as you called me out regarding authenticity of this backpack. Having a serial number on the pocket is not a sure way of finding the authenticity of a product — this can be copied by anyobe who makes good fakes .

glossakyra
@alulu22 Brand new pradas including reeditions do not have the serial numbers on the actual bag (only the QAT) , how then are you going to know if it is authentic or not ? Or if that certificate of authenticity card is “lost”?
Sep 26Reply

alulu22
Your logo inside and outside are wrong and you have the bucket strap that should be there instead of a zipper. I know from getting scammed myself. Do me a favor and send a picture of your zippers and that will also tell us. I also understand that I'm calling you out and I'm sorry for that. I don't just look for the serial but that one just looked off. They now have been coming up with putting a hologram code or something inside the bag.

I also noticed your prices for other items in your closet with very very low prices and it looks that most come from china.

@alulu22 I cant upload more photos unless i delete and replace the lmea that are alteady there. I can tell you though that all zipper pulls have Lampo on all the back of zipper pulls. Not all Prada backpacks have buckles on the front pockets.
While the iconic style often features buckle closures, the brand offers many backpacks with zippered front pockets or other fastening methods.

@alulu22 Now, I am starting to be offended by this statement as this is a bit pushing too far, dont you think ? This has nothing to do with with this Prada backpack and I am not sure what your intent is but you are putting me on the defensive, totally singling me out and I refuse to dignify myself with that statement.
