By Philippe Ledoux It was inspired by an engraving preserved in the Château de la Malmaison, historical designer of the Hermès house, In the center of the square is the phaeton of Napoleon 1st's son. a horse-drawn carriage named after the son of Helios, representing the sun in Greek mythology. When he seized his father's solar chariot and lost control, Phaeton died after failing to embrace the world.
The two merino sheep were trained and harnessed by the director of the Franconi circus. Built in 1812 by the coachbuilder Tremblay, it is preserved at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, where the Emperor's son lived for a large part of his life.
