Add a touch of rustic charm to your home with this vintage cream ceramic jar. Perfect for storing small items or as a decorative piece.
Glazed Stoneware Preserves Jar With Lid & Wood Handled Bail ~ About 1 Quart
This antique crock with lid and handle, patented in 1896, is a charming piece for display. It features a wire bail and wooden handle with distressed black paint finish and the cream colored crock itself is round in shape, adding to its farmhouse-like appeal. The crock stands at 5.75 inches tall which tapers at the top from 4.75 to a diameter of 4 inches at the opening, making it a unique addition to any kitchen display. With its country theme, lid and handle, this crock captures the essence of a quaint cottage aesthetic.
The printing on the side appears to say patented Feb 11, 1896. See pics. Others I’ve seen show this same date.
No crazing. Excellent glaze finish with very little wear. There is a crack on the bottom edge and another where the handle attaches. They have been there for decades, since it was purchased in the 70’s. This has been used as decor for many years. It should probably not be used for food storage or everyday handling. No chips.
