Artist Rifles Vintage Brooch

Purchased in Soho NY back in the 80's. This is a pin of the 21st Regiment of the UK Army. Made of antiqued brass. Light wear. Width: aprox 4 cm Height: 5 cm. "The Artists Rifles regiment was formed in 1859 by art student Edward Starling. It was a volunteer regiment and formed out of the widespread fear of a French invasion. Many of those who joined were artists, actors, musicians and architects and its first headquarters was located at Burlington House.
