Art Deco Egyptian Revival Carved Enameled Glass and Gold Leafed Oval Brooch

A lovely hand painted and gilded Art Deco Egyptian revival cabochon brooch restored and set in a gold tone setting I bought this beautiful glass cabochon and realized it could make a spectacular piece. The detailing was quite worn after many years, so I opted to repaint and regild the cabochon using the same historic colors. It took awhile to find a vintage setting to compliment the cabochon, and to devise a way to set it, but I am pleased with the results. I used a shallow brass setting, and added a simple vintage twisted border ring to enhance the setting. All elements were epoxied into place, and lightly touched up with a bit of gold enamel. The pin back is the only new element. It is 2 x 1.5". It became a statement piece that could harmonize with styles such as Victorian and Edwardian.
