Art Deco Bookends Bird Kingfisher Penguin Vintage Brass Bronze Gilt Marble Stone

Art Deco Set of Bird Bookends, circa 1920s - 1930s. Featuring: + Highly detailed bird design (Kingfisher, Penguin, Falcon or other) with a stylized Egyptian look + Crafted in cast metal (spelter) with a gold and bronze patina + Mounted on a Black stone or metal triangular / pyramid base with linear Deco grooves + Felt underside SIZE: Each measures 6” tall (bird is 4 3/4” H and base is 1 1/4” H). Width and Depth (depending on direction they’re facing) are 3 3/4” and 4 1/4”. Weight together (unboxed) is 5 lbs 4 oz. CONDITION: Overall very good vintage condition with a range of general wear to note, including chipping in the finish of each base throughout and what may be a water mark (as seen in last photo). It’s difficult to pinpoint what is age-related wear on the birds’ golden finish and what is by design, but one does have slightly more wear on its back and the other on its wing.
