Army/USMC M1956 Entrenching Tool, Shovel Canvas Carrier Cover & Spade/Pick Combo

Military entrenching tool with the spade/pick combo attachment and a Vietnam Era US Army/USMC M1956 Entrenching Tool Carrier Case Used condition. Overall length from tip of shovel to handle bottom is 25 1/2" The Carrier/Cover includes a set of M1910 belt hook grommets on the front as an additional attachment point for other accessories. Name is written inside carrier (my father-in-law's). Includes the canvas belt. Please review pictures and read history below before purchase. BACKGROUND HISTORY: This carrier and entrenching tool were in a crate of WW2 military gear from my father-in-law who was a soldier in WW2. After researching this item, I now know that this is not his original WW2 entrenching case since it is Vietnam era. The shovel/pick tool may or may not be his from WW2. I can't find any markings other than Taiwan on the aluminum tightening knob (?) and it looks to be repainted. My father-in-law worked for the government at our local Hancock airbase as a carpenter. My guess is he bought this from someone he worked with, either the whole set or just the carrier to use with his ww2 shovel as maybe he lost his original carrier. I'm just not sure. No one in the family has any idea where this came from, all assuming it was his from WW2. The stamp on the carrier case clearly states August 1960 so I know for sure that the carrier is NOT a WW2 carrier. I see shovels from ww2 that look just like this one, with the wooden handle with the spade/pick combo.
